Rise of the Rest Brings Its Focus on Startups to Tampa Bay, Awards IMMERTEC $100K Tampa Bay Times • Yesterday, Steve Case and the Rise of the Rest delegation made their stop in Tampa Bay. St. Pete Fintech Startup Raises a $5M Series A Round St. Pete Catalyst • Intrinio, based in St. Petersburg, is a financial marketplace that offers affordable access to data. The $5M round was led by Nyca, a New York-based fintech venture capital fund. The current funding will be used to expand the company's 300 offerings of financial statements, stock prices, financial data and more. CEO Rachel Carpenter will continue to build in St. Petersburg as Intrinio grows and seeks funding outside of the region.
The Startup Underdog That Was Chosen for the Rise of the Rest Tour Tampa Bay Inno • AbleNook, based in Ybor City, is a startup that has developed modular dwellings that customers can assemble themselves without tools in under 2 hours. On an earlier scoping trip, the Rise of the Rest team stopped by AbleNook and was sold on the idea of including them as one of the Tampa Bay tour stops. AbleNook started in 2017, originally to help victims of natural disasters have access to nimble housing solutions.
