Juggling Expectations & Maintaining Mental Well-Being As a Startup Founder with Brad Feld
Managing a startup, keeping up with expectations, running a small team, scaling with limited resources and trying to stay healthy can push even the best entrepreneurs to the edge. Elizabeth Galbut of SoGal interviewed Brad Feld, Managing Director of the Foundry and Co-Founder of TechStars, about managing mental health and well-being for startup founders. Brad is a strong advocate in raising awareness about mental health issues for founders. As a result, he's worked with mental health professionals, suicide prevention advocates, entrepreneurs and investors to increase conversations about improving mental health issues in startup communities. In this interview, he shares his challenges with depression and stories of other founders to amplify the conversation around mental health.

The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship
Founders often cite that running a startup is lonely and overall challenging. The toll entrepreneurship takes on founders' emotional, physical and mental well-being is alarming and often omitted from the "how I built it" stories of growing a company. For founders to run successful ventures, they have to be well mentally, emotionally and physically. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week, we're sharing a throwback article from Jessica Bruder, originally featured on Inc. Magazine. In this piece, you'll find stories of other founders who've been set back mentally on the entrepreneurship journey and advice and tips for how to manage the pressure of operating a startup during the ups and the downs.
