Fruutfull Among Finalists at SoGal Florida, Advances to National Competition
St. Pete Catalyst • Last week, Fruutfull landed a spot as one of the four regional finalists at the SoGal Global Pitch Competition in Florida. In partnership with Embarc Collective, SoGal held the regional competition in Naples. As winners of the regional round, Fruutfull and other Florida finalists will attend a SoGal bootcamp in Silicon Valley and compete for investment backing.


Israeli Anti-Radiation Vest to be Tested in Outer Space
The Jerusalem Post • FIBA company and Embarc Collective member StemRad is sending its tech to outer space. The AstroRad vest, a prototype developed by the startup to protect bone marrow and sensitive organs against deep-space radiation, will be aboard an unmanned test of the Orion space command module next year. This test will help NASA assess AstroRad as an essential personal protective equipment for future manned deep-space missions.


Junior Achievement will Open Entrepreneur Lab in Embarc Collective
TBBJ • Embarc Collective is partnering with Junior Achievement to develop an entrepreneurship academy and lab within its 32,000 square foot hub that will be completed later in 2019. The JA Entrepreneurship Academy & Lab at Embarc Collective will provide a physical space to deliver entrepreneurship opportunities to students.

M2 Microsoft Venture Fund Female Founders Competition
Submissions will be judged by a panel of investors and 20 finalists will be invited to pitch their startup at a final event in Silicon Valley. Four winning B2B companies with at least one woman founder will receive up to $2M in investment in the form of convertible note. Companies who have at least one woman founder, currently offer or intend to offer a product, service or platform that solves a critical business problem, and have raised no more than $5M in funding are encouraged to apply.
